The new mixed use facility will be Japan’s first National Strategic Housing Development and the first condo complex to be directly connected to Yokohama Station.
Sotetsu Real Estate and Tokyu Corporation announced on January 26th that they will open a showroom for their new tower condominium project named The Yokohama Front Tower in the nearby Yokohama Bay Sheraton Hotel & Towers in late February, 2022.
The 459 unit property in Yokohama City’s Kanagawa Ward will be a residential condominium included in the Yokohama Station Kita West Exit Tsuruya District Type 1 Urban Redevelopment Project, which was approved as Japan's first National Strategic Housing Development Project.
The cost of the project will be split equally between the two developers, and in addition to the housing, the complex will also include a lounge with international exchange functions, a hotel, serviced apartment and other commercial facilities, and a clinic.

The building will be directly connected to Yokohama Station, which is served by eight train lines including the popular Tokyu Toyoko Line, via a pedestrian deck. This project will be the first ever tower condominium connected to Yokohama station.
The site area is 6,687.15 square metres. The total floor area will be 79,333.20 square metres, with 43 floors above ground and 2 floors below ground, made partly of steel framing with the majority of the building being reinforced concrete.

There will be 44 residential unit configurations with exclusive areas ranging from 23.42 to 101.62 square metres with units ranging from studios to 3 bedroom layouts.
The entrance doors will be equipped with digital door locks without keyholes. Delivery boxes will be installed on each floor for added convenience.
The entrance on the 5th floor will house a library salon that can be used as a study, a workplace with private booths, a fitness room, a kids' space, a private garden, and various other common facilities.
In addition, the building will offer chef dispatch services, meal delivery services, outside sales services, and other services in cooperation with the Yokohama Bay Sheraton Hotel & Towers, Yokohama Takashimaya, and Joyous.
The first phase of sales includes 129 units, and purchase applications have been accepted since January 11th.
First phase prices range from 130 million yen to 668 million yen, with a price per tsubo of 7,170,000 yen. The first phase exclusive areas range from 55.48 to 161.62 square metres.
Applications have already been received for almost all of the units, with about 1,500 groups having applied as of January 26th. About 60% of the purchase applications are for primary residence use, and about 20% each are for investment and second homes.
Roughly 60% of applicants live in Yokohama and about 30% are from Tokyo. Applicants so far quoted the rare location directly connected to Yokohama station as a key benefit.
The second phase of sales will begin in early April 2022. Phase two sales prices and number of units are yet to be determined.
Construction is scheduled to be completed in late December 2023, with delivery scheduled for late April 2024.
