New Osaka project follows the September announcement of Japan's first in Kawasaki.
Tokyu Land Corporation and Kanden Realty & Development announced on December 6th that they will develop a new condominium tower, tentatively named Branz Tower Tanimachi 4 Chome in Osaka’s Chuo Ward.
This development is the second all renewable energy tower condo project announced this year by a Tokyu group company, following September’s announcement of Japan’s first, the 23 floor Dresser Tower Musashi Kosugi project, a joint development by Tokyu Corporation and Itochu Property Development Corporation.
The development is hailed as Osaka’s first tower condo project to utilise all renewable energy. The project will house 174 units on 31 floors and will be located a 3 minute walk from Tanimachi 4 Chome station.
With a site area of 1,107.68 square meters and a total floor area of 17,340.36 square meters, the reinforced concrete structure will stand 31 floors above ground and will utilise advanced seismic damping technology at the base.

Branz Tower Tanimachi 4 Chome will be a super high-rise, strata title condominium complex that uses 100% renewable energy from non-fossil certificates to power all units and common areas.
This will be the first condo tower in the Kansai region to adopt an electricity service that uses 100% renewable energy.
Through this initiative, residents can use electricity from 100% renewable energy sources at the same cost as conventional electricity and gas rates.
In addition, mechanical parking will also be available with pallets designed specifically for electric vehicles.
Construction is scheduled to be completed in late January 2024, with delivery scheduled for late March of the same year.
On September 27th, Tokyu Corporation and Itochu Property Development Corporation announced the development outline of Dresser Tower Musashi Kosugi.
Located in Kawasaki’s Nakahara Ward, the 160 unit complex is hailed as the first tower condo project in Japan to be powered by 100% renewable energy.
The building will be a 23 floor reinforced concrete structure with a total floor area of 16,142.85 square meters.
Floor plans range from one to three bedrooms, with the most common being three bedrooms. Unit exclusive areas range from 42.09 to 84.49 square meters.

The electricity consumed by all units and common areas will be procured from Next Power, the largest renewable energy-based electricity retailer in the industry, and provided through a high-voltage bulk power receiving system. Using non-fossil certificates, the power will be provided by 100% renewable energy.
Electricity from solar power generation is used for some of the common areas. In addition, the common areas will be equipped with storage batteries that can be used in emergencies, and several mechanical parking pallets for electric vehicles will be installed.
The entrance and elevators are to be equipped with a facial recognition system that can be used to unlock the doors without contact.
Dresser Tower sales are scheduled to start in February of 2022, with the number of units to be sold and prices yet to be determined.
The model room will open in January of the same year, and construction is scheduled to be completed in May of 2024.
