The Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s approval for the association formation is a key milestone in realising the project.
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government approved the establishment of the Yaesu 2 Chome Urban Redevelopment Association on October 18th.
This is pertaining to a 2.2 hectare redevelopment project in front of the Yaesu Exit of Tokyo Station. The development will be a 43-story building with three basement levels with an approximate height of 226 meters high. Total floor area will be approximately 388,330 square meters.
The development will consist of offices, retail, serviced apartments, an international school, and a bus terminal.
The large bus terminal will connect to international airports and regional cities. An above and below ground pedestrian network will connect Tokyo Station with Kyobashi Station and the surrounding urban area and will strengthen the transportation nexus in front of Tokyo Station and aim to further improve convenient travel.

The development of international schools and serviced apartments will play a role in strengthening Tokyo's international competitiveness.
In addition, advanced efforts will be made to reduce the burden on the environment, including the construction of an independent and decentralized energy network.
The project will also strengthen the city's ability to respond to disaster prevention through the construction of facilities for people who have difficulty returning home and efforts to provide disaster relief through inter-district cooperation.
The total cost of the project is approximately 317.2 billion yen with the start of construction slated to begin in 2024. Construction of the building is scheduled to be completed in 2028.
