Daikyo and Full Time Systems announce partnership to provide secure unattended delivery boxes for individual condo units.
Daikyo and Full Time Systems announced on October 19th that they have developed the Lions Smart Box, a home delivery box for condo residents to be installed at the entrance of their unit.
The aim is to solve inconveniences such as the inability to use common space installed delivery boxes because they are full, because of theft or rain leaks during deliveries where the package is left outside the front door of the unit and the hallway is exposed to the elements.
Another feature of the delivery box is to meet the needs of residents who want to receive cleaning and food items, which are held in a separate compartment from dry package deliveries.
Special IC cards will be distributed to delivery companies that have been pre-screened by Full Time Systems.
The card is then used by the delivery person to gain access to the building, use the elevator and then unlock the parcel delivery box installed next to the front door of the unit. The package is placed inside the compartment providing secure unattended delivery.
Residents can then unlock the box using a PIN code or another special IC card and retrieve their packages.
Three storage spaces are provided so that multiple packages can be received in one compartment without having to reveal the contents of the other compartments.
The top compartment is also equipped with a storage space for emergency supplies that can be unlocked even during power outages.
The system will be installed for the first time in a test case property in Tokyo’s Katsushika ward to be completed in October.
The service is scheduled to be offered in earnest from March of 2023. In the future, Full Time Systems will gradually expand the number of partners, such as cleaning companies and food delivery companies, to further enhance resident convenience.
