Net sales and operating income reached record highs for the homebuilder underlining the increasing appeal of freestanding homes throughout the pandemic.
On January 11th, Tama Home (TYO:1419) announced their financial results for the second quarter of the fiscal year ending May 31st, 2022.
Tama Home’s fiscal year begins on June 1st and ends on May 31st, deviating from the common April 1st start of fiscal in Japan.
For the period of June 1st to November 30th of 2021, net sales were 115,104 million yen, up 16.7% Year-on-Year (YoY). Operating income was 6,016 million yen (up 42.0% YoY), ordinary income was 6,247 million yen (up 48.5% YoY), and net income was 4,101 million yen (up 30.3% YoY).
Net sales and operating income reached record highs. Net sales exceeded 100 billion yen for the first time for the first half of any fiscal year in company history.
For custom home building business line, the number of custom built houses delivered was 4,676 (up 15.3% YoY), with sales of 86.5 billion yen (up 16.7% YoY).
Orders for custom built houses was 5,329 (down 3.4% YoY), and the monetary value of the received orders was 105.0 billion yen (up 4.8% YoY).
The number of subdivided freestnading homes delivered was 531 (+16.7% YoY), with sales of 15.7 billion yen (+15.5% YoY).
Orders for subdivided freestanding homes were 612 (+29.1% YoY), with a monetary value of 10.7 billion yen (+35.4% YoY).
Tama Homes upwardly revised its full-year forecast and now expect net fiscal year sales of 235 billion yen, up 4.4% from the previous estimate announcement.
Other revised estimates are operating income of 12 billion yen (up 6.2%), ordinary income of 12 billion yen (up 6.2%), and net income of 7.6 billion yen (up 4.1%).
