On November 24th, Tokyo Kantei announced the average price for second hand family condo prices in the three major metropolitan areas of Japan for October 2021.

Family condos are defined by Tokyo Kantei as 70 square metres in size.  

The three major areas are Greater Tokyo, Greater Osaka and Greater Nagoya which include the cities themselves and their respective surrounding areas.

Average second hand condo prices in the Greater Tokyo Area rose for the sixth consecutive month to 43.6 million yen, up 1.3% from the previous month.

The Greater Tokyo Area includes Tokyo, Saitama, Chiba and Kanagawa Prefectures. 

Broken down by component prefectures, prices in Tokyo Prefecture rose for the 16th consecutive month to an average of 59.14 million yen, up 0.6% from the previous month. 

Kanagawa Prefecture rose 1.2% from the previous month, to an average of 32.44 million yen, and Saitama Prefecture rose 1.9% from the previous month, to an average 26.70 million yen. 

Chiba Prefecture remained unchanged from the previous month at an average 23.84 million yen.

The Greater Osaka Area (Kinki) rose for the 12th consecutive month to an average of 26.85 million yen, up 1.2% from the previous month. 

In Osaka Prefecture, the figure rose for the ninth consecutive month to an average of 29.26 million yen, up 1.1% from the previous month.  

In Hyogo Prefecture, the figure rose for the fourth consecutive month to an average of 23.06 million yen, up 0.1% from the previous month.

In the Chubu region, the market rose again, to an average of21.58 million yen, up 1.0% from the previous month. 

In Aichi Prefecture, the index rose for the first time in two months to an average of 22.83 million yen, up 1.3% from the previous month.
