Greater Tokyo based clients needing temporary leases due to construction or renovation of their current property can take advantage of the new service.
On November 4th, Tokyu Housing Lease announced the launch of its Temporary Housing Service for some of the condominiums and detached houses it leases and manages in the Greater Tokyo Area (GTA).
For owners the company manages properties on behalf of and who agree to the scheme, the company will provide rental housing in the GTA for lessees who are renovating or rebuilding their homes and have a need for temporary housing.
In many cases, large-scale renovation or reconstruction of detached houses takes several months to complete. During this time the owners of these properties need a place to live.
However, the lease contract for rental housing is generally a two-year term and in many cases, applications to move in for a short period of time, say for a few months, are not accepted.
Therefore, the Tokyu’s Temporary Housing Service allows customers to move into rental housing for a short period of time under a fixed-term lease contract during the period of time that their home is under construction.
In cooperation with rental agencies specializing in temporary housing, which have networks with home builders, construction companies, and renovation companies, Tokyu Housing Lease will introduce rental housing to customers who need to relocate.
The company will also offer a service that allows customers to move twice; from home to a temporary residence and from the temporary residence back to home after the completion of construction at a preferential rate.
The company plans to gradually expand this service to the Kansai region and other areas.
