This marks the second Tokyo hotel based on Mori Trust and Marriott International’s partnership.
Mori Trust held a completion ceremony on July 7th, 2021 for a building that will be home to Marriott International’s second luxury EDITION hotel in Tokyo; the Tokyo EDITION, Ginza.
Following the launch in late 2020 of the Tokyo EDITION, Toranomon in Mori Trust’s newly built World Trust Tower on top of Kamiyacho Station, the Ginza hotel aims to further position EDITION to capitalize on the so-called after-corona market when inbound tourism returns to the economic landscape.
Located a 3 minute walk from Ginza station, The Tokyo EDITION, Ginza houses 86 guest rooms, three high-end restaurants, a meeting studio and a fitness center. The Ginza location is set to open in the fall of 2021.
The Ginza location is smaller than the Toranomon hotel which has 206 rooms occupying the 31st to the 36th floors of the Tokyo World Gate Kamiyacho Trust Tower; a skyscraper that was completed in March, 2020.
According to Mori Trust’s website, the Tokyo EDITION, Ginza together with famed architect Kengo Kuma “…involved in both the exterior and interior design, (the hotel) is expected to be one of Ginza’s new, shining landmarks.”
