PLAZA HOMES President Koya Kuwata established the business with five staffers and has since blossomed. "The gap in servicing the foreign market has lead to a successful run"
It all started in 1969, the economy after the 1964 Tokyo Olympics was growing and many foreign companies were descending to Japan to target its rapidly-growing market.
Responding to the increasing demand for residences for incoming foreigners, PLAZA HOMES President Koya Kuwata established the business with five staffers and has since blossomed.
In a statement on the company website, Kuwata expressed gratitude to his customers and business partners for the ongoing support, with the future looking promising.
“Fifty years from now, I would like to promise to make further efforts with my employees,” Kuwata said.
He said the business strived to adhere to their management philosophy- to continuously provide quality service to satisfy their clientele and pay more attention to the world by contributing to society.
“Since then we have expanded our fields of business to areas such as furniture leasing, planning-constructing-managing housing for foreigners, construction and sales of apartments, investment and mediation of overseas real estate property, hotel business, services to support foreigners living in Japan, and more,” he said.
Kuwata said the company had witnessed Japan’s period of high economic growth until the bursting of the economic bubble in the Showa period, and despite this he believed they were able to grow significantly while harbouring tough times.
Examples include the recession of the Heisei period, the Lehman Shock, and the Great East Japan Earthquake.
Kuwata said his employees continued to provide quality services to foreigners in their search for quality real estate in Japan.
